Serena Williams uncovers surprising saving habit: “I’m always on a budget”

Serena Williams told CashApp when was the last time she was on a budget, and her answer can seem surprising to many, given her net worth. “When was the last time you were on a budget?” the interviewer asked Serena.

“I’m always on a budget. But when I’m using my husband’s credit card, I’m never on a budget.

Serena Williams is not a big spender

In the past, Serena Williams was asked how she spends her money.

“I’m not a big spender. Actually, I was, I was just thinking about getting a new place in Paris because mine’s so small. I was going to upgrade. But I’m really, I’m just one of those girls that like to invest and do things like that, one of those bonds and stock, really boring.

I probably should have been… yeah, that’s me. I always have meetings with my money guy, and all we talk about is investments and blue-chip companies and which ones I want to do and stuff like that. So, yeah, that’s what I do,” said Serena.

Serena never felt broke

Although she hasn’t always been rich, Serena Williams once admitted that she never felt poor. “I never ever felt broke. Looking back, I’m like, wow, we lived in a two-bedroom house with seven people …

I don’t know how my parents were able to make me feel that way, but they did, and that was something really special. So I never felt when I came into money that I needed to go buy this [or that] because I never wanted it, so it was a great way [to grow up].

Since I was a teenager I’ve made every financial decision in my life, and I’ve had to learn how to make good ones and how to make bad ones, and it helps you make better ones,” said Williams.
