Pegula and Gauff have enjoyed great seasons.
Jessica Pegula and Cori Gauff have accomplished quite a feat as they are the first American duo to be ranked inside the top-4 since Serena and Venus Williams. This week, Pegula, 28, reached her career-high of No 3, while 18-year-old Gauff rose to a career-high ranking of No 4.
On social media, Pegula reacted to her and Gauff’s feat. “This is interesting lol,” Pegula wrote on her Instagram Story. On Twitter, Pegula had a bit off a different reaction: “And we are 10 years apart.”

Both Pegula and Gauff are set to debut in the singles event at the WTA Finals.
Also, Pegula and Gauff will be competing together in the doubles event at the prestigious season-ending tournament. Pegula, who has played lots of tennis this year, also plans to represent the United States at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Glasgow.
Pegula is set to finish her busy season very late, but she plans to have a short rest in the offseason. “I still have WTA Finals and I have Billie Jean King Cup coming up the next couple weeks, for the rest of the month basically.
So I’m just really going to focus on that. Obviously I’ll take a little vacation, a little rest, enjoy the holidays back in America, spend some time with my family. Yeah, off-season is right around the corner. I’ll definitely go back to training by December, yeah, look forward to starting the year right back up again in Australia,” Pegula said, per Tennis365.
Last week, Pegula clinched her first WTA 1000 title after beating Maria Sakkari in the Guadalajara final. A bit shockingly, that was Pegula’s just second WTA title. Previously, Pegula lifted her first WTA title in 2019, in Washington. After winning the WTA 1000 event in Guadalajara, Pegula admitted that she felt relieved.
