Jabeur in Grim Reaper costume scares Swiatek during Halloween interview

Tennis – Watch the spooky moment between the top 2 players in the WTA ranking.

Ons Jabeur didn’t miss the opportunity to scare her rival Iga Swiatek in an interview preceding Halloween. Jabeur dressed as the Grim Reaper and surprised Swiatek from the back. Then, Jabeur shared a compilation of pictures of the moment on her Twitter account.

“Spooky season, Iga Swiatek,” Jabeur captioned the photos.

Swiatek talked about relationship with Jabeur

Earlier this year, Swiatek opened up about her relationship with Jabeur.

“Yes, for sure. Ons is a great person,” Swiatek told Vogue. “Also, I’m more of an introvert, so it’s really thanks to her that we have a good relationship—she’s very open-minded, and she’s always smiling and always has jokes to throw around.

Getting to know her has been really cool, and she’s a great player with so much determination and ambition. It’s nice that we can have that mutual respect. I feel like it’s important in women’s tennis.

There’s no tension between us in the locker rooms on tour; the girls are all really nice and we are all supporting each other. Even though we’re always fighting and wanting to win on court, it’s a great environment.”

Although Swiatek and Jabeur look like friends off the court, Swiatek is dominating Jabeur on the main stages of tennis. After being runner-up in the US Open, Ons Jabeur joked that she will forget Iga Swiatek when the Pole presents her with a Rolex watch.

Jabeur, the fifth-seeded player in the US Open main event, has now lost back-to-back Grand Slam finals after losing to Swiatek. Swiatek defeated Jabeur 6-2, 7-6 (5) on Saturday. In the Rome final in May, Jabeur was defeated in straight sets by Swiatek.

“It will always be great to compete against Iga. I was joking when I said I don’t like her. I’ll forgive her when she gives me a Rolex or something (smiling),” Jabeur said after the US Open final.
