Daniil Medvedev reflects on comeback win over Denis Shapovalov in Vienna final

Daniil Medvedev described beating Denis Shapovalov as one of his “best victories” due to the fact that the Canadian was on top of him before he found a way to turn around the match. In the Vienna final, Medvedev recovered from a set down to beat Shapovalov 4-6 6-3 6-2.

He dropped his level by maybe two per cent and I was able to use it. This is one of the best victories when you know your opponent is on top of you, but you try and stay there and do what you can,” Medvedev said after the match, per the ATP website.
